About this activity
Under the guidance of our guides, you will cycle along the places where fierce fighting between Germany and the Allied forces took place during Operation Market Garden.
Operation Market Garden, managed by field marshal Montgomery started on September 17, 1944, American paratroopers of the 82nd Airborne Division descended in large numbers in the immediate neighborhood of Nijmegen. The goal was to conquer the bridges up to Arnhem. After dys of heavy fierce fighting, the Waal Bridge was conquered at the cost of many lives on both sides.
